The Steampunks Sallys in action

The Steampunk Sallys

Anyone who has been to a UK steampunk event and seen the Steampunk Sallys performing their humour-based shows to entertain the masses, will surely not have failed to raise a huge smile at the sight of this rather British tongue-in-cheek reenactment of a Victorian Salvation Army band.

The band describes itself as: "A collective of Sisters who like to share positivity, well-being and good fun through rousing routines, happy harmonies, marvellous mayhem and all-round good humour. The more smiles generated, the happier the Sisterhood will be."

The Sallys' number one aim is to make you smile, and if the humorous words, banter and terminology of their Supreme Commander, General Anna Bollick, seem reminiscent of a real Victorian Salvation Army troop, that's probably because the General spent much of his adult life as an officer of the Salvation Army Church ...now it all starts to make sense, I hear you cry!

Recruits Wanted – a message from General Anna Bollick

the_general.jpgWe are always ready to welcome new recruits to our totally non-religious group. We are not affiliated in any way to any other organisations, we are simply amateur performers who like to spread as many smiles as possible at steampunk events throughout the UK.

We are always on the lookout for new talent of any level of ability. Music, instruments and uniforms can be loaned to anyone who would like to ‘come and join us’. We would welcome any of the following to help us with our variety shows that seek to entertain the crowds that gather as soon as we assemble to perform:

  • singers
  • soloists
  • jugglers
  • drummers
  • baton twirlers
  • instrumentalists (especially brass)
  • tambourine players (lessons given)
  • mace throwers (a marching mace can be loaned)
  • ...or any other hidden talent that is likely to entertain.

We have already built up a sizeable fan base and reputation for making folk smile. So If you are interested in lifting up the fallen and converting the masses to our unique brand of humour, please don’t hesitate to send me a message via Facebook, here > General-Anna Bollick. Full details of events can be given, and any questions answered.

Keep the old flag flying,
Sister Anna Bollick
General
